Equinox Software is off to the Big Easy!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norcross, GA —June 21, 2011

Equinox Software is heading to New Orleans for the American Library Association Annual Meeting, but that doesn’t mean we will be taking it easy while in the Big Easy. In addition to being available at exhibit booth #550, Equinox staff members will be presenting programs and serving as panelists for discussions.

Equinox Project Manager Shae Tetterton will join Jennifer Turner from Minnesota State University and Melissa Lefebvre from Bibliomation as a presenter for “ILS Migration Project Manager's Jambalaya” on Saturday, June 25th in room 285 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. According to the presentation description, “Project management for an ILS migration is a spicy mix of insanity and mayhem sprinkled with a little library schooling and topped with a delightful mix of training, configuration, and supporting legacy systems. Come hear project managers share their experiences getting staff buy-in, migrating libraries to Evergreen, navigating pitfalls along the way and - most importantly - keeping their sanity while juggling an ever expanding list of job duties and responsibilities.”

Equinox’s head of support and implementation, Galen Charlton, will serve as a panelist for “Vendor Plans for Implementing RDA” on Sunday, June 26 at the Hilton Riverside. This forum will discuss the impact RDA will have not only on cataloging workflows, but on integrated library systems and what ILS vendors and support providers are doing to accommodate these changes. Charlton says, "The American Library Association Annual Conference is really about the librarians and their libraries joining together and sharing ideas to further the profession in service to our users -- and all of the really important events happen off the exhibit hall floor. We are proud to be part of that conversation".
